Song 5-8; Phil 1

Scripture - Phil 1:27-30 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

Observation - let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, stand fast in one spirit, one mind, together and not terrified by your adversaries. I love these words - Paul casts vision and deposits faith in every letter. He is telling the Philippian church that there actions are so very important. Everything they do represents Christ. That together they should be standing in one spirit - having the same goal with the same purpose and the same Christ. They should be in the same mind with the desire for the same things. If we could get Christians today in the same city going in the same direction with the same purpose with the character to back it up we would have no problem filling every church in that city.

Application - While I can't affect every church in the city - I can affect mine. I take the personal responsibility to instruct us on the vision, desire and passion of God for our community that will change the hearts of our community to change the community. If we are all on the same page we will crush the adversary that tries to attack any one of us.

Prayer - Father - unity, direction, and passion to complete the task. God help me to communicate your vision to your people your way.
