Ex 12-13; Ps 21; Acts 1

Scripture - Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

Observation - Jesus is ascending to heaven and the men are looking up and standing around watching. The angels that were on site were chastising them and saying "What are you looking at?" "Why are you standing there looking up when the one who went away is going to come back" There is ministry to be done, gospel to preach and kingdom to build. What are you looking for - standing there gazing into the sky?

Application - We are so amazed sometimes at the miraculous and wonder of God that we are numbed to moving forward. These men were looking into the sky amazed at what has already happened not understanding that He is still here and is still working and wants us to accomplish things today. It kind of reminds me of staring at a fire in a fireplace. You get so mesmerized by the light that it causes a sort of paralysis. It is amazing that we had a fabulous service on Sunday, that God showed up in glorious splendor, but what are we doing today. What are we doing with the blessing we received today. Are we still standing looking up into heaven waiting for the next blessing or are we putting the blessing to work in our lives.

Prayer - Father help me to launch out with new zeal and fervor to accomplish your plan for today.
