Scripture - 1 Cor 12:22-26 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it
Observation - There is not one member of the body that is not important. Every single part has a purpose and consequently the body does not function nearly as well without it. If we lost our hearing life would be difficult and the body must compensate through another sense. If we lost a hand the body would not function as well and the body would have to compensate in other ways. Likewise, every member of the church is necessary. The whole body does not function nearly as well without the giftings that the individual brings. Every person is wholly needed and missed if they are not present. The scripture says that "if one suffers, all the members suffer". Just like in the body if one part is injured it affects the whole. And if one rejoices we all rejoice.
Application - It is necessary to change our view of the body of Christ. Every person that walks through the door brings a gift and a blessing to the whole. When we can change our view of each person and look at them as vital to the mission, we would be winning the whole of our region to Christ. People are not a nuisance they are a necessity. It is our duty to mourn when they mourn and celebrate when they celebrate. God is so awesome to allow us to be blessed around others.
Prayer - Father make the whole body of Christ in every part of the globe - celebrate each other. We are in this for your glory and know that you have placed each member with us on purpose.
