Scripture - Luke 8:16-18 "No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
Observation - Jesus is trying to educate the disciples on the importance of the Word. He tells them that it is meant to be a light and to shine so that all can notice - not hidden under a bushel. When that word is in you it is meant to beam out of you like a beacon for All to be pointed to Jesus. Not kept as some secret that no one can understand. Gods wants us to take the word in us and set it on top of our life. The LIFEJournal allows an intimacy with the word and the sharing of the word allows that light to shine.
Application - We can't stop sharing what we are learning and hearing from God. He wants us to not only take the word we are studying and apply it to our lives but to share it with all that will listen. Not everyone will listen but some will hear and want more.
Prayer - Father make us ALL beacons of light!
