Gen 31-33; Luke 13

Gen 32:26-28 Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." 27 The man asked him, "What is your name?" "Jacob," he answered. 28 Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."

Observation - Struggling with God and with men. Jacob wrestled for his blessing. he did not want to let go until he was blessed. He was even injured in the process but struggled with God until he received the blessing. Jacob was not distracted by anything - not even the daybreak - he would not let go. He wanted the blessing.

Application - Sometimes I think we need to wrestle until we get breakthrough. We give up too easy or don't want to go through the trouble. We don't want to put up the fight to get the blessing we need in our lives. The enemy has worn us out - he has tattered us and torn us and totally worn us out that we don't have any fight left in us. It is time to get back in the fight and wrestle until the blessing comes.

Prayer - Father give me the fight to get the blessing - I will not quit - I will not quit - I will not give up - I am in this til the blessing comes.
